The Trent Mental Well-Being Campaign is a TCSA initiative that addresses the stigma surrounding mental health, while also informing our membership of the resources and coping strategies that are available to them. There are a number of different partners in this campaign including the Trent University Wellness Center, Trent Active Minds, and The Mood Disorders Society of Canada.
Elephant in the Room
The Elephant in the Room Campaign is a national anti-stigma campaign designed to address the stigma associated with mental Illness.
When you display a little blue elephant, you show that you care about the wellness of others and demonstrate that this is a safe place to talk about mental illness, without fear of being viewed differently.
When you see a little blue elephant, you know that this is a safe place to speak about any mental health issues you or your family may be having. You will be treated with respect and dignity and you will find the support and understanding from a friend who cares
If you would like a little blue elephant of your own please contact email@example.com for more information.
Throughout the school year the TCSA plans on offering a number of different workshops to help students develop strategies to address any difficulties they may be experiencing. This will come in the form of stress and time management workshops, Mental Health First Aid courses, SafeTalk and other workshops surrounding positive mental well being.
Art With Impact
In partnership with the Wellness Center and the colleges at Trent, the TCSA will be sponsoring an Art with Impact workshop. Art with Impact uses short films on mental health issues and then connects those films with educational resources and concrete volunteer opportunities through in-person events on college and university campuses.
